Porterville Maternity Photographer | Food…Again

That’s right, I’m going to talk about food…again. As many of you know my husband and I lived in Italy for a few months last year to preach to the refugees from Africa. Many of them were Nigerian, as is the husband of my last client. We enjoyed the African food while we were in Italy so, of course, I asked him where can we go for good African food around here? Are there any restaurants in our area?

He said there are some good ones in the Los Angeles area but not really close to here. Bummer. Then he said he loves to cook, he makes good food. So naturally I invited myself over to try some. Maybe he was just being nice but he said, of course, I will cook for you. He proceeded to describe the different dishes he likes to make. They all sounded mouth-watering. Oh, I’m definitely coming over for dinner. I’m announcing it publicly on this blog so you will be forced to keep your word, Kitan. πŸ˜€ That’s right, I will guilt you into it. Food is on the line, man! Food!

Also, how great does this mama look in that white gown?! Love it! Thank you taopan for all the gowns for this session. Shop for maternity gowns here http://www.shopanabrandt.com/maternity/

My Kinda Girl | Porterville Pregnancy Photographer

This pregnant mama was my kinda girl…a girl after my own heart…a kindred spirit…my sister from another mister. (Do people still say that?) Well, anyway, the point is we got on like a house on fire. We talked food, lots and lots of food, all kinds of food. I may not be pregnant but I regularly eat for two. I love watching Food Network. I love cooking. And I love talking about food. She shared my affinity for food so the session flew by with us gabbing and laughing and drooling a little about our favorite meals.

She drove over from Exeter for her session so I recommended that she stop at Orangeworks Cafe http://theorangeworkscafe.com/menu/ for lunch. She said she had already looked on Yelp that morning to find a place to eat on the way home. *Swoon* Can this girl get any better? I’m telling you…she’s my kinda girl.

And just so you know, if you head over to Orangeworks, their veggie sandwich is incredible. You do not need to be a vegetarian to enjoy it. If you are a meat-eater the “Jacques” is the way to go. I recommend getting extra roasted garlic on either sandwich. Orange ice cream is a must! To. Die. For.

So, to my kinda girl, have that baby already! I can’t wait to meet him and I can’t wait to talk food with you some more. πŸ˜‰

The experience starts once you book a session with Bellies and Babies Photography. You will receive a beautiful reminder card in the mail along with an instructional card on what to expect on your photo session. This was so helpful as it eliminated all the questions I had. It was wonderful to be able to show up and try on all the beautiful pregnancy dresses she has available, even though I’m only 4’11” the dresses fit and I felt comfortable in them. Alaina is so kind and just makes you feel like you are the most beautiful pregnant lady she has ever seen. Her voice and the way she gives directions for the photo shoot makes you feel cared for and relaxed. I also loved that she is a foodie and all her conversation was fun and enjoyable. I would recommend anyone that is pregnant to book a session with her, she will get beautiful photos and will make sure you feel special. Thank you so much!

Porterville Newborn Photographer | Twins

Sometimes you get lucky as a newborn photographer and a mom calls to have her new baby twins photographed. Yes please! Twins are definitely twice the work but also twice the fun. These little dreamboats did not disappoint.

These precious twin girls were very much planned, anticipated and brought forth through tremendous labor. The trials that led these parents to this moment resulted in so much joy, hope and love. You could feel the emotion at this session and I hope it comes through in the photos.

There are some families that I will always remember, sessions that stick with me, stories that I’m now a part of. I love this job partly because I get to meet such incredible people and get to document their personal joys and successes.

Family | Porterville Newborn Photographer

As a newborn photographer, one of my favorite things to capture is the baby with their family. Whether it’s siblings, parents, grandparents or all of the above they are always my favorite photos from the session. Partly because my pretty clients always rock it out during the session. But also because I know how much these moments will be treasured.

I’m a mom so I know that our baby’s tiny bodies only fit in the crook of our arms for a very short time. I know the feeling of joy and overwhelming love when a new baby follows the sound of our voices and seems to make eye contact with us. I know the smell of their sweet breath when you snuggle them close. I also know that time goes quickly and they grow too soon. But if you document these moments then each time you see the photos those precious memories and feelings will return.

Welcome to the world little one.

Porterville Maternity Photographer | Wildflowers

As a Porterville maternity photographer I always try to photograph my clients outdoors for part of their session. With the drought that usually meant we were in a field of dry grass…don’t get me wrong, I love that look. But this year has been very different. Typically in Porterville the very short season that we call spring only lasts a few weeks, the mustard will bloom and then wither within a month. But this year, with all the wonderful rain we’ve been having, the grass is green and the wildflowers are glorious! So, of course, I had to get this gorgeous client outside for a spectacular shoot with Porterville at it’s finest.

Thank you Pink Blush Maternity for the bohemian mama gown. https://www.pinkblushmaternity.com/default.aspx

You are truly amazing at what you do! Not only do you know how to capture the perfect shot, but you make the settings very comfortable. It’s not always the most comfortable being in front of the camera, but you do everything you can
to make it as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
Thank you for capturing these precious moments!
